365 Project: HALFWAY done!

credit I started this 365 days project of writing last December 12, 2011. Who would have guessed I am halfway done? This is my 182nd day already!!! Here's an excerpt from my 365 days project post. I've always wanted to write everyday... One day at a time... one story at a time.. for 365 days . I hope that you'd join me as I write my her heart out... Stories of my life. Stories to share. Stories to learn about. stories to read. Positive that as I uncover mysteries of life in its simplicity and beauty, YOU will also be able to relate, find common things, learn, unlearn, undo, redo, own, justify, correct, metamorphose, change… life as it is. Did I religiously write everyday? No, it is hard! Sometimes, I just don't know what to write! But I try to compensate days I haven't written so I could catch up with the project. I just need to think outside of the box to it happen! What have I learned so far? I've learned all the more, how powerful our minds could g...

18 Differences Between Americans and Pinoys

I read and copied with permission from Mark Morfe's blog .  Really funny.  Follow the chart, and see The Differences Between Westerners and Asians. Key:  Blue   -- Westerners     Red   -- Asians (1) Opinion Westerners: Talk to the point Asians: Talk around the circle, especially if opinions are different (2) Way of Life Westerners: individualism, think of himself or herself. Asians: enjoy gathering with family and friends, solving their problems, and know each other's business. (3) Punctuality Westerners: on time. Asians: in time. (4) Contacts Westerners: Contact to related person only. Asians: Contact everyone everywhere, business very successful.   (5) Anger Westerners: Show that I am angry. Asians: I am angry, but still smiling... (Beware!) (6) Queue when Waiting Westerners: Queuing in an orderly manner. Asians: Queuing?! What's that? (7) Sundays on the Road Westerners: E...

To Camp or not to camp!

credit I signed up on a 10-day all expenses paid camping trip to study Survey of Geology. We are to travel and camp at New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Colorado National Parks. It is set this July. Now, I am in panic mode and having second, third and tenth thoughts!!! Why? 1. I have not been to any camping trips here in the USA. 2. It would have been easy, safer and  comfortable if I will be with a Filipino, any Filipino, stranger, friend, co-teacher, just a Filipino. 3. I do not know what is in store for me! 4. I am not even teaching Geology class! Will I be able to pull this off? 5. I will only have showers every other day! 6. I do not know who the other students will be!  7. I will miss my family- that is 10 days non-stop of travel, hiking and camping. 8. It'll be 10 days of nose-bleed!!!! OMG! 9. It'll be rainy in the afternoons in July! I'll get wet!!! 10. I am thinking of dropping the course really!!! I am in real panic mode. FEAR. I fear right?  Instead of looking at...

My Brothers!

I am the eldest of three. I only have two brothers, both younger than me. I left the Philippines in 2007 to work here in the USA. Bottom line, both my brothers got married, and I missed it!!! Don don and Monet May 20, 2012 Jun jun and Chic Jan. 16, 2010 Guess, I can't have it all, just yet. Missing the most important part of their lives is just one of the prices I have to pay for choosing to migrate :( Nonetheless, I am happy for both of them.  I was once the only girl in the family.  Now, I have sisters! :)) God is good! reality hurts

The funny thing is I have forgotten how to become really angry. I have forgotten the best way to react when I just hit rock bottom. I have forgotten about what I must be doing or should have done when it hurts. I have forgotten to feel. It has happened too many times, that I am not sure what's happening anymore. It has happened too many times that I am not sure if what I am doing now is the right thing to do. It has happened too many times and now it is happening again.. that, truly, was it fake or real? Funny but I don't feel human at all. I think I have become a robot. A super woman, maybe? Lol! I have to start feeling again, but with the situation now, and how memories just flooded my brain cells again... I am not really sure. The joke may be on me. But it sure feels not right, not humane, and honestly, I cannot even process. Because I know, I cannot change anyone, because I know deep down, it may be the truth - there's nothing I can do. Tears wouldn't fall, I've...

Reasons and Results!

The Challenge started last January 8! I challenged myself to do something with my weight through my food choices and exercise. Well, the more challenged I became because I wrote it down and let everybody knew about it! Yay!, losing weight was fun!!! Yeah, right! Not so really, but I need to do what needs to be done... It paid off real well, remember, once a rubber is stretched it will never be the same again. So I was like that! Now, I started to like eating apples, less rice, more water and exercise! But.. the challenge continues! Check out my 90-day challenge results here! The 90-day-challenge results! :) Join me in my 90-day challenge!    90-day-challenge.gi Jan. 8 - Feb 8 - 30th day Feb. 8 - Mar. 8 - 60th day Mar. 8 - April 8 - 90th day    Weight Goal:  136lbs -day 116

Gifted Business

The reason for my two weeks absence in the social media in my Becoming Anti-Social post was actually to study for a licensure test.  It was the "WAITING" time that I am not sure I like the most, but, I guess, one only needs to be creative, productive and sane during the waiting time to be able to cope!, thus the ... in my bridge post! Good news! I've got the results early today and I've passed! Wooohooo!!! You see I've finished all 33 academic units in MA in SPED major in Gifted Education in the Philippines, but I wasn't able to do the Comprehensive Exam and Thesis - coming here in the US, didn't make it any easier! - because of time lapsed, they said, I would need to start over!  So, to make it a "finished business" for me - I decided to take the licensure test in Gifted Education via The Praxis Series ™ - the tests used for licensing and certification. I thank my parents and my husband for their prayers (they were the only ones who knew about...
