 QUESTION

"Tell us about grammatical errors in writing.."

  ANSWER

Honestly, at times, I will just write and write and unfortunately, 
fail to be consistent with my grammatical tenses! 

For example, if my story covers the past, then, 
I have to make sure that ALL my verbs including my to-be verbs are ALL written in the past tense. *rules are rules, right?!

BUT sometimes I will really just publish a blog post 
without really going in-depth proofreading! 

After a while, I will read it again and EDIT mistakes.

Yeah, not a good practice at all!

RESOLUTION:Double check, double check, double check, prior to publishing!

… and THANKS to readers who are not very “Grammar-MUST-be-correct!” conscious for “simply” understanding  what I am talking about and hopefully still getting the message!

… for  my “Grammar-MUST-be-correct!” conscious readers, 
I am very open and will really appreciate comments or emails 
on errors and fixes –and I will definitely edit ASAP!!!

… for  those who don't care about grammatical tenses and perfect construction at ALL, yet still enjoy my posts...

    oo naman pero ang tanong ay sino? ineedit ko na lang sila kapag binasa ko ulit at may napansing mali... pero kung perfect writing and hanap ng readers... eh, kahit yung mga text books nagkakamali rin eh

    uh... sometimes I actually publish some articles that after re-reading it for how many times, I still commit wrong grammar and spelling in the end after reading it the following day. uhh..

    Ms. Gemma, I do that also. Publishing without reviewing and later on stressing myself out in editing. Hahaha. Nakakailang edit pa nga ako napublish na. hahaha. Eventually we learn diba, we become more vigilant in not committing the same mistakes, we become more conscious of words to use.:)

    Kaya minsan inaabot ako siyam-siyam sa pagpopost ay dahil sa walang kamatayang pageedit ng aking grammar kung tama ba sya o mali.

    Pero that experience alone helps us learn more to construct an almost perfect error-free paragraphs. ^_^

    Even English experts commit mistakes in constructing their sentences. We pinoy's do have a problem in the proper usage of tenses and prepositions because even our Filipino is more complicated than the English language.

    I am guilty of grammar and spelling mistakes too. Minsan tinatamad na kong balikan pa. But you're right. It is good practice to review and edit first before publishing.

    Same here.. We want our post kasi to be comfortable as possible so sometimes we don't check grammar that religiously anymore our priority is to get our message across and inject humor in our writing... I'm doing a lot of editing too afterwards.. Hehe.. Practice makes perfect! ;)

    When you're used to correct any grammar error in your composition or write-up, you'll become an expert in writing or a good grammarian. Therefore, when you're used to writing correct grammar sentences, it will be a habit. Once it is a habit, you will never be get wrong the next time you write. Writing is a skill and skill isn't develop overtime. It takes practice, practice, and practice.

    I admit that I can be a grammar nazi, at times. hehe.. Naiirita ako kapag merong nababasa na mali-mali sa grammar. Pero minsan din kasi, pati ako sa post ko, nagkakaroon din ng error. Hindi rin kasi maiwasan minsan.. Typos.. MOst of the times, naipublish ko na bago ko makita ang error.. Oh well.. We're only human. :D

    I make sure to triple or even quadruple check my post before publishing, pero minsan meron pa ring nakakalusot so edit nalang. Haha.. Anyway, I think bloggers and blog readers are not hardcore grammar nazis naman.. :)

    What is better is that you admit that you are not a perfect writer and that you humbly ask people to constructively remind you of your errors. It is not a sin to commit syntax or grammatical errors, we learn eventually and improve our works in time.
    It is often said that one could improve one's writing only by writing a lot. Persons who have good writing skills revealed developing the skills in writing do not come overnight it needs hard work and constant training to achieve it.

    Many bloggers and writers are having problems with their grammars even me sometimes . But this doesn't mean that we need to laugh at the sentences but rather correct it in the most sincere way.

    I graduated with a degree in Journalism and I still make grammar mistakes, so let's not get too strict about it. As long as you can be understood by your readers, that's good enough. :)

    Sometimes, I check, most of the time I don't. I'd like to think that I'm one of the few gifted who don't need to check all the time. I think. Hahaha.

    Yeah...I confess, I have to plead guilty of grammar and spelling errors for so many times and I have to apologize to the world for such a crime. More importantly, I have to ask apologies to my teachers who have taught me well but have just got forgotten everything.

I do admit that a frequently have grammatical mistakes/errors like this comment hehehe! I'm not really good at writing kasi eh.     Wow, that's an insanely big number! I don't even get that many hits in half a year, haha! As for the question, I don't mind grammatical lapses as long as they are obviously just "lapses" or even typos. My pet peeve is reading a post riddled with grammar mistakes that steal the author's credibility and impede comprehension. But I ain't a grammar nazi so I don't post hate comments about that. I just X the page and not go back to the site.

    I also check mine before publishing, but most of the time not. For me as long as we are understood that's fine. Remember we are not a native English speaker.I think even them create grammatical errors.

    I always check mine but unfortunately, I still have loads of mistakes. I really dont care as long as I know people understand what I'm trying to say. If they want correct grammars, punctuation and all, then read other blogs. Yun na yun.

Jack of All Trades

My parents gave me all the opportunities to try and do different activities while growing up. I did ballet. I had swimming lessons ; I joined theatre arts ; I had piano recitals ; I learned bicycling; I played volleyball; I was one of the editors in our school paper.
