I thank God for you!

“I am beginning to understand," said the little prince. "There is a flower... I think that she has tamed me...” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

I looked at the mirror, feeling all the confidence in the world.
I looked at the mirror, loving myself,
I looked at the mirror, seeing who I really I am.

Funny, but not too long ago...
I didn't feel the same...
I felt insecure and unloved...

BUT

I handled it well...
So it didn't show...

THAT IS WHY

I thank God for you..
because you made me feel beautiful! :)

"Of course, an ordinary passerby would think my rose looked just like you. But my rose, all on her own, is more important than all of you together, since she's the one I've watered. Since she's the one I put under glass, since she's the one I sheltered behind the screen. Since she's the one for whom I killed the caterpillars (except the two or three butterflies). Since she's the one I listened to when she complained, or when she boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing at all. Since she's my rose.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

  3. I rarely pick up a book and read it from start to finish and the book The Little Prince is one those those rare moments. I love that book to bits that I have read it three times.

  4. I think Antoine's words can apply to our mothers as well, except that they're the flowers that showered us with their love. And she could be that person looking back at us from the mirror. She made us beautiful, not just feel beautiful. :) Happy mothers day! (oh, actually I dunno if it's also mothers day in the US, but it is here in Pinas.)

  7. This reminds me of all the moms , they always protect us and shower us with their love, if possible they won't let any harm done to us. Their maternal instinct is always there and they will love us unconditionally.

  11. Sometimes, we have to sacrifice something
important and significant in our lives to
give happiness to others. Being selfless is noble.

Redirecting Thoughts!

Sometimes, we forget to take control of our minds. There are times that we just do a lot of things out of habit. We do a lot of things unconsciously. These days, whenever I find myself “thinking”, I am making sure I am thinking productive things. What will I do next?; What are my plans today?;How will I go about today’s activities? If alone in the car, driving, I’d deliberately turn on the positive, encouraging radio station, since their kind of music is good for the soul. I could listen and know that it is all good. As much as possible, I try not to think of negative or bad things. Why? Because I’ve proven that whenever I do that, it boomerangs on me! There was this one time when I felt so pissed off with my husband that my mind was just creating all these negative vibes! Asked what happened next? The more my husband got pissed off. I wasn’t even saying anything, it was all mind power, and it hasn’t done any good! So I experimented the next time it happened, ins...

Overspeeding!!!

credit While driving, a police car passed me by, turned around and followed me. I slowed down.  credit It gave a warning for me to stop. I did.  I was running a lot of excuses in my mind but decided to put it all aside. I prayed instead - Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. A police women came. "Hi!" I said, "Hello!" "Ok", she said, "I pulled you over, because you were running at 60mph in a 45 lane". I said "I'm sorry". She said "Now do you have driver's license, registration and insurance?" I said, "Yes". There was a pause (Oh, I guess, this was the time when I should have given her everything already), she repeated, "So, you do have your driver's license, registration and insurance?" I said, "Yes", and took out my driver's license.  She took it, and said, "so you've never been stopped before?" I said, ...
