Kids!

“Momai!!! When I woke up, I was sleeping on the floor!!!”

Mimoi (our youngest, calls me Momai (pronounced as Mamay)) shouted when he saw me early this morning.

I said, “What?”, he said, with too much passion this time, “When I woke up, I was sleeping on the floor!!!”

So, I walked to their room and true enough, the chairs that would supposedly block him from falling out of bed were turned upside down, and beside it were his pillow and blanket.

Our kids share a double deck bed, Mimoi is using the top bed, but since he was so persistent that he wanted to share bed with her sister last night, I told him, "That’s what you get from wanting to sleep beside your sister, Mymy is big and tall!"

Upon getting what just transpired into his system, he cried and cried, he just felt so bad, he said, “Mymy’s mean to me!” and cried some more…

Well, tonight, guess who’s sleeping in the same bed? AGAIN?

BUT this time, they switched sides!

It reminds me now how we learn at our own pace and time.

Sometimes, no matter how we present a solution to a problem, no matter how we want to help another, no matter how we persist our ideas… unless one is ready… one will never learn… yet!

BUT the moment, we open ourselves to change, growth or infinite possibilities… then God (or the universe or life…) begins to support us.

And then… we are never the same again! :)

  2. It reminds me of my childhood. When I was still 8, I have my very own queen size bed ( take note, just the bed, no mattress) but no matter how big the bed was and no matter how I would try not to fall out of bed, I would always end up on the floor each morning. My mother would not say anything when she sees me on the floor because she already knew what happened. Until I reached 10 that I started to learn to really sleep in bed without falling out of bed.

  3. Aww, poor boy.

Pero tama po, kahit na anong pilit mo, one can never learn if he/she isn't willing or ready to learn. If one's ready, everything will just fall into place. But I think, it never hurts to just keep teaching and reminding. Education/learning is a continuous process, anyway. hehe.. :)

  7. Ahahaha dami kong naalala nung kakulitan ko nung bata pa ako! Agree. The only time we will learn is when the time we are ready to learn and accept new things and discover it by ourselves.

  9. I've been contemplating on moving to another school for the next term but still doubting because I just thought I'm already too comfortable with where I am now though some students torment me with their behaviors every time I go to their classrooms. Today, I exploded in one of the classes after months of extending my patience with them. I cried in too much frustration that I cannt tell them what I want to say because they won't understand me anyway.

Then, I came to this post. "BUT the moment, we open ourselves to change, growth or infinite possibilities… then God (or the universe or life…) begins to support us." so goes the post ender.

    I must really be going...

Redirecting Thoughts!

Sometimes, we forget to take control of our minds. There are times that we just do a lot of things out of habit. We do a lot of things unconsciously. These days, whenever I find myself “thinking”, I am making sure I am thinking productive things. What will I do next?; What are my plans today?;How will I go about today’s activities? If alone in the car, driving, I’d deliberately turn on the positive, encouraging radio station, since their kind of music is good for the soul. I could listen and know that it is all good. As much as possible, I try not to think of negative or bad things. Why? Because I’ve proven that whenever I do that, it boomerangs on me! There was this one time when I felt so pissed off with my husband that my mind was just creating all these negative vibes! Asked what happened next? The more my husband got pissed off. I wasn’t even saying anything, it was all mind power, and it hasn’t done any good! So I experimented the next time it happened, ins...

Vitamins for the Mind

Vitamins for the Mind   by Jim Rohn Results At the end of each day, you should play back the tapes of your performance. The results should either applaud you or prod you. The greatest form of maturity is at harvest time. This is when we must learn how to reap without complaint if the amounts are small and how to reap without apology if the amounts are big. Life asks us to make measurable progress in reasonable time. That's why they make those fourth grade chairs so small—so you won't fit in them at age 25! There are some things you don't have to know how it works, only that it works. While some people are studying the roots, others are picking the fruit. It just depends on which end of this you want to get in on.    "Vitamins for the Mind" is a weekly sampling of original quotes on a specific topic taken from The Treasury of Quotes by Jim Rohn. The burgundy hardbound book with gold-foil lettering is a collection of...

Jack of All Trades

My parents gave me all the opportunities to try and do different activities while growing up. I did ballet. I had swimming lessons ; I joined theatre arts ; I had piano recitals ; I learned bicycling; I played volleyball; I was one of the editors in our school paper. I was even a member of University Quiz Bee contest called "Pautakan", representing our college for 3 years! In high school, I admired students who could do Impromptu Speeches. You see, I could memorize long scripts, I could compose essays but to speak my mind in a contest? Whoa! I guess, I carried that thought - wishful thinking with me, even after college, that it led me to become a member of Toastmaster's International in Makati, Philippines and then here in Gallup, NM, USA! Do I still know how to ballet dance? Mmmm... Lol! Swim? Mmmm... not where I can't touch the floor or sand, OK?  hehe Play piano? Mmmm... I can do two piano pieces? Will that count? hahaha Act? Oh yes! Could...
