What's in it for me?

ME, MYSELF and I

Following Gem Answers #2 about real giving, is my controversial “What’s in it for me?” message.

I have yet to learn to generously give without expecting anything in return. I have yet to learn to be motivated in doing things, with 100% unselfish intentions, with no excuses, no explanations, no justifications, no side-comments, but simply because I LOVE.

I have yet to move forward from admiring to actualizing admirable traits of Mother Theresa and the persons in my lifetime who are able to give without counting the cost, who are able to sacrifice for a friend, family and even strangers, who are able to love unconditionally.

BEST yet, to really recognize, appreciate and be really grateful for God’s outpouring blessings upon me and my family and the people He has sent to teach me to love and be real generous without “What’s in it for me?” thinking.

“AS YOU SOW, SO SHALL YOU REAP.”

Simple, right? And we know it too? But do we really?

Reading Thomas Willhite's Living Synergistically,he said “Obtaining peace is as simple as this: Give peace and you will receive peace.”

Not simple at all because if we will check our lives in terms of what we are RECEIVING, we would know by what we are GIVING, right?

If we give peace and love (meaning, we don’t judge, curse, resent, hate) to everyone we know and meet, we will receive peace and love in return (NOT hatred, cruelty, bitterness, hostility and anger).

MY PRAYER

I pray that we will all let love come into our lives – LOVE FOR ALL. No judgments, no exceptions, no excuses, no explanations, no side-comments, just pure LOVE. May we all dispose of all hate and anger in our lives and replace it with warmth, forgiveness and acceptance. May we learn from each other and support one another in achieving this. I know, it is not easy but yes, it can be done, one experience at a time, one step at a time, as we imitate Jesus’ grace, mercy and love. Amen.

Redirecting Thoughts!

Sometimes, we forget to take control of our minds. There are times that we just do a lot of things out of habit. We do a lot of things unconsciously. These days, whenever I find myself “thinking”, I am making sure I am thinking productive things. What will I do next?; What are my plans today?;How will I go about today’s activities? If alone in the car, driving, I’d deliberately turn on the positive, encouraging radio station, since their kind of music is good for the soul. I could listen and know that it is all good. As much as possible, I try not to think of negative or bad things. Why? Because I’ve proven that whenever I do that, it boomerangs on me! There was this one time when I felt so pissed off with my husband that my mind was just creating all these negative vibes! Asked what happened next? The more my husband got pissed off. I wasn’t even saying anything, it was all mind power, and it hasn’t done any good! So I experimented the next time it happened, ins...

Overspeeding!!!

credit While driving, a police car passed me by, turned around and followed me. I slowed down.  credit It gave a warning for me to stop. I did.  I was running a lot of excuses in my mind but decided to put it all aside. I prayed instead - Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be. A police women came. "Hi!" I said, "Hello!" "Ok", she said, "I pulled you over, because you were running at 60mph in a 45 lane". I said "I'm sorry". She said "Now do you have driver's license, registration and insurance?" I said, "Yes". There was a pause (Oh, I guess, this was the time when I should have given her everything already), she repeated, "So, you do have your driver's license, registration and insurance?" I said, "Yes", and took out my driver's license.  She took it, and said, "so you've never been stopped before?" I said, ...
