Thoughts on Giving

(I’m not a guru, I'm not an expert but here are my answers to the following questions...)

 QUESTIONS
"What are your thoughts on giving?", "What is real giving?"

  ANSWERS
"What are your thoughts on giving?
"Givers gain - takers lose"
"The hand that gives - gathers"
"As you sow, so shall you reap"

Simple answers, I am sure we all know about it but sometimes how we are on giving of ourselves, our time, our service, and especially our money are areas to work on.

 "What is real giving?"
Two answers:
I believe it is when there are no explanations about it, no excuses, no side-comments,
no justifications just 100% offering of self, money, time and service;

AND when one does not expect anything in return at all!

Let's all strive for real giving EVERYDAY.

Our RESULTS: We will fall in love with ourselves, our lives and EVERYONE we meet. :)

  1. Be the change that you wish for , the change must start within us and multiply it to others. Your topic is giving for me real giving is like sacrificing if you know how to sacrifice, it is real giving sacrifice without asking in return or condition .The greatest expression of giving is God itself he give his only begotten son for us to have an eternal life he sacrifice his only son for us . To give without condition to sacrifice without asking in return is having a blessed heart . Blessed your heart Gemma .

  4. indeed , the person who are the recipient of your sacrifice must also know what are the things that you sacrifice for them but because we are only human and our hearts and mind sometimes don't agree that's why we asked in return or a favor . That's why when you give , you give with all your heart but your mind must agree with it .- shalomidom

  5. yes, human as we are -it's kind of automatic "What's in It for me?" and "If I will, You will".. we cannot just expect people to return the favor...

  6. as long as you make that sacrifice and you did not ask anything in return that is real giving that comes in your heart and your mind just go with it. I will quote my mom on this "kapag tumulong ka gawin mo para sa Diyos at hindi para sa kanila para wala kang hinging kapalit just like when you sacrifice you sacrifice for God not for them . - shalomidom

  7. Circumstances present itself and then there's no time to think of "Should I give or should I not give?" The impulse always is to lend a hand and more often than not, the return in terms of true friendship, love especially if you get it from little kids like we're getting now is more than enough. It makes the heart swell and thoughts of "How lucky can I be?" always prevails in the mind. - Zeny Bayuga

Redirecting Thoughts!

Sometimes, we forget to take control of our minds. There are times that we just do a lot of things out of habit. We do a lot of things unconsciously. These days, whenever I find myself “thinking”, I am making sure I am thinking productive things. What will I do next?; What are my plans today?;How will I go about today’s activities? If alone in the car, driving, I’d deliberately turn on the positive, encouraging radio station, since their kind of music is good for the soul. I could listen and know that it is all good. As much as possible, I try not to think of negative or bad things. Why? Because I’ve proven that whenever I do that, it boomerangs on me! There was this one time when I felt so pissed off with my husband that my mind was just creating all these negative vibes! Asked what happened next? The more my husband got pissed off. I wasn’t even saying anything, it was all mind power, and it hasn’t done any good! So I experimented the next time it happened, ins...

Vitamins for the Mind

Vitamins for the Mind   by Jim Rohn Results At the end of each day, you should play back the tapes of your performance. The results should either applaud you or prod you. The greatest form of maturity is at harvest time. This is when we must learn how to reap without complaint if the amounts are small and how to reap without apology if the amounts are big. Life asks us to make measurable progress in reasonable time. That's why they make those fourth grade chairs so small—so you won't fit in them at age 25! There are some things you don't have to know how it works, only that it works. While some people are studying the roots, others are picking the fruit. It just depends on which end of this you want to get in on.    "Vitamins for the Mind" is a weekly sampling of original quotes on a specific topic taken from The Treasury of Quotes by Jim Rohn. The burgundy hardbound book with gold-foil lettering is a collection of...

Jack of All Trades

My parents gave me all the opportunities to try and do different activities while growing up. I did ballet. I had swimming lessons ; I joined theatre arts ; I had piano recitals ; I learned bicycling; I played volleyball; I was one of the editors in our school paper. I was even a member of University Quiz Bee contest called "Pautakan", representing our college for 3 years! In high school, I admired students who could do Impromptu Speeches. You see, I could memorize long scripts, I could compose essays but to speak my mind in a contest? Whoa! I guess, I carried that thought - wishful thinking with me, even after college, that it led me to become a member of Toastmaster's International in Makati, Philippines and then here in Gallup, NM, USA! Do I still know how to ballet dance? Mmmm... Lol! Swim? Mmmm... not where I can't touch the floor or sand, OK?  hehe Play piano? Mmmm... I can do two piano pieces? Will that count? hahaha Act? Oh yes! Could...
